WHAT WE DO
AUT Millennium Schools Programme can provide the tools, facilities, and instructors to give all school students the opportunity to participate in physically active, hands-on, out-of-the-classroom learning experiences.
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
A range of aquatic and land-based activities are offered to create an Education Out of The Classroom (EOTC) Activity Day. Our activities are conducted in a fun and safe environment all year round. Students can participate in the aquatic activities regardless of their swimming ability, as life jackets are an integral part of the programmes.
Based on the Physical Education and Health curriculum of New Zealand schools, the AUT Millennium Schools Programme offers the following activities for your students to get the most out of their experience:
- Water safety
- Surf safety
- Kayaking
- Snorkelling
- Rock climbing
- Team building
- Team athletics
- Students usually visit for a full day of activities.
- We offer flexibility with start and end times to work with your bus timetable.
- We can host a maximum of 60 students per day based on four to five different activities.
- Students are split into small groups and move on a rotation basis around the chosen activities. One AUT Millennium trained and qualified instructor per group.
- Schools will need to provide one school staff member per group.
- We adapt our programmes to cater to different year levels, from year two children to secondary school students.
