My First Lesson

My First Lesson

Welcome to AUT Millennium Swim School

As a Gold Standard Swim School, we continually strive to create an environment where students learn the skills necessary to stay safe in, on and around the water.

To make your experience the best possible, please read the information below.

WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR FIRST LESSON

  • Please bring along well-fitted swimwear, goggles and a cap, all of which you can purchase here at AUT Millennium. Swim School members get a 10% discount on Speedo Products.
  • Babies do not need to wear goggles and a cap for their lessons. Water babies and toddlers are required to wear swimming nappies, and these are available for purchase at our Main Reception.
  • We do not allow rash tops or beach shorts for lessons. These are great for the beach, but they create a drag which makes learning to swim difficult.
  • We also recommend you bring warm clothing and a beanie to keep children warm after lessons during the colder months.
  • You Swipe card if you have it, otherwise you can collect this from our friendly customer care team.

PARKING

For information on parking please see here.

CHECKING INTO YOUR LESSON

AUT Millennium has two swimming pools and the procedure for checking into your lesson is slightly different for each.

AUT MILLENNIUM BUILDING – SMALL POOL AND MAIN POOL

If your swimming lesson is in the AUT Millennium main facility, you will need to check in at the main reception. You will be issued a personalised swipe card that you will need to bring to all lessons. Our customer care team can show you where and how to swipe this card.

AUT Millennium has a number of different user groups swimming at any one time, due to this you will need to take a coloured plastic card when you swipe in for lessons. This card must be given to your child’s teacher and shows our team that you are a part of our Swim School family and that all payments are up to date.

SMALL POOL SWIMMERS

The changing rooms and entry to the pool is located at the southern end of the building.  If you are unsure of where to go please ask and a staff member will be happy to show you the way.

MAIN POOL SWIMMERS

Entry to the Main Pool is also located at the northern and southern ends of the building. Lessons are taught at the northern end of the 50 metre pool. Our friendly Swim School supervisor will be happy to show you where your child will be swimming.

NATIONAL AQUATIC CENTRE – 25 METRE LEARNER’S POOL AND 50 METRE POOL

When you arrive at the National Aquatic Centre, please check in at reception. A personalised swipe card will be issued to you and the Customer Care team will show you where to swipe this card to access the pools.

The National Aquatic Centre Learner’s pool is located to the left hand side as you walk into the pool area. Our friendly Swim School supervisor will be happy to show you where your child will be swimming.
