Aquatic Legacy Project

Aquatic Legacy Project

AquatiC Legacy Project

Over the past decade, we’ve welcomed a diverse mix of people through our doors – from children taking part in learn-to-swim lessons, school students attending water safety classes, members attending swim sessions and aquatic classes, to athletes and supporters travelling from across Aotearoa taking part in local and national events.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe, high-quality environment for our community, we are undertaking essential and critical infrastructure upgrades across our aquatic facilities. The National Aquatic Centre 50m pool will be re-grouted, which will enable the pool to continue operating for the next 10 years without the need to empty and refill the pool multiple times for patched area repairs.

The National Aquatic Centre 50m pool will be closed from 29th September – Term 1 2026 as it undergoes a refurbishment.

Lane Availability

We have worked to ensure lanes remain open in the Millennium Pool for public use. All pool lane availability will be kept up to date on our Live Lane Availability page here. Please be sure to check this before visiting us.

Please note, while Swim School is running during the following times, there will be no lanes available in the Millennium Pool: Monday – Friday between 3:30pm – 6:30pm.

For on information on how our Swim School will be operating during this time, please see here.
