Surf and Open Water Safety

Surf and Open Water Safety

WHAT WE DO

The programme teaches key surf safety principles and survival techniques in a practical session that aims to prevent water-related tragedies by raising awareness of personal limitations, potential dangers and bystander rescues.

Our rips and currents drill allows students to experience the movement of fast-flowing water and the difficulties of swimming against it in a safe and controlled environment (we can do this at your school pool!)

The programme covers

  • Float First
  • Survival swimming
  • Theory and drowning recognition
  • Position of flags and roles of the lifeguard
  • Improvised floatation
  • Bystander rescues
  • Rips and currents
  • Scenarios
