Frequently asked questions

Hub Sessions are a great option for athletes who want to train with us but can’t commit to the early morning schedule. While Morning Academy runs weekdays at 7am (AUT Millennium) and 6:30am (College Rifles), Hub Sessions are held at AUT Millennium at a time that suits a wider range of schedules. Both programmes follow the same AD philosophy and are coached by our team, but Hub Sessions offer a bit more flexibility in when your child trains.

Hub Sessions are also a focused, single-topic session that dive deep into a specific aspect of athletic development, rather than the broader ongoing programme that Morning Academy provides. We currently run two types of Hub Sessions:

Speed Sessions are perfect for athletes who want to get faster. We work on movements in the gym that directly enhance acceleration and top speed, alongside drills to clean up running and sprint mechanics. For our juniors (ages 8–13), this means building the basics of sprinting through jumps and explosive movements. Our senior athletes (14+) go deeper into the finer details of speed, acceleration, and deceleration mechanics.

Strength Sessions are designed for athletes who want to get stronger and move better. We focus on strength gains that carry over into sport, but equally important is injury prevention, correcting higher risk movement patterns and exposing athletes to a wide range of movements so they really understand how their body works. Junior sessions are about movement exploration and building safe, efficient habits that reduce the load on their bodies during sport. Senior sessions are more loaded, helping athletes start building muscle and developing resilient, strong bodies to enhance performance and stay injury free.

Please note that while our general age guide is juniors (8–13) and seniors (14+), we use Peak Height Velocity (PHV) to group athletes, meaning we look at where your child is in their growth journey rather than just their age. This means your child’s group may differ from what their chronological age would suggest, and that’s completely intentional. We always place athletes where they’ll thrive and develop best.

Absolutely. The two programmes complement each other really well! If your child is already in Morning Academy, adding a Hub Session is a great way to put extra focus into a specific area like speed or strength. If you’re looking to swap from one to the other, just get in touch and we can help make that transition smooth. We’d just ask that any changes are made before the next term so we can manage spots accordingly.

Yes, to hold your child’s spot we ask for a full term commitment, which helps us plan coaching and keep group sizes right for everyone. If you have any concerns about committing for a full term, feel free to chat with us and we’ll do our best to help.

She Lifts is led by our experienced female coaching team, creating a supportive environment where young women can build strength, confidence and athletic skills.
