WHAT WE DO
AUT Millennium offers a unique service for Waterwise syndicate schools to help prepare students for their school Waterwise programme.
The AUT Millennium Schools Programme provides a Waterwise Training Day at our facility for students to learn basic water safety skills and improve water confidence before participating in their school Waterwise programme at the beach or lake.
WHAT IS WATERWISE?
Waterwise is a school-based practical and hands-on programme in Auckland that teaches children how to enjoy our rivers, lakes and seas safely. The programme uses yachting, kayaking and water safety to help students become more confident and competent on and in the water.
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
AUT Millennium Schools Programme will work with your school to create a training day to meet your needs.
We provide a warm and safe environment all year round in a heated indoor pool.
Students are split into small groups and rotated around different bases.
We can supply the necessary equipment, including lifejackets, inflatable boats, kayaks, and optimist sailboats.
We provide trained and experienced water safety instructors to assist your waterwise instructors with the bases.
It allows teachers to assess the swimming ability of their students.
